Do they know it's Christmas? They sure do!

Christmas is a fun and colorful celebration in Mexico and, while our school closed down for two weeks, the office was open half days for the week before returning and some stores were even open on Christmas Day! Connor's school put on a little Christmas concert and his class sang a festive Spanish song. The town was dotted with Christmas trees, decorations, and displays. Our Christmas Day was a quiet one at home and we skyped and chatted with family. Christmas dinner was steak and asparagus. On Boxing day we met the Southwell family, who were vacationing from San Pedro, for lunch. We didn't have plans for NYE either but had a fun meal of stuffed jalapenos then toasted with bubbly at midnight and caught some of the city's firework display from our rooftop.

Burlington reunion of school friends.

Connor's best buddy Nathan and his family were vacationing in Cozumel and we were lucky enough to arrange to meet up. They last saw each other in the summer of 2016 so were really excited for the sunshine reunion. (Ultramar Ferry - got 140/60 pesos return local rate verses regular 3-400!). Took the Ultramar Ferry over - pretty choppy for those who get sea sick - and I did! Reunited. Fun in the town square Central clock. Looking for bargains. We had a great lunch at Wet Wendy's, the highlight for the adults was the frozen margarita and we got a treat from an impromptu breakdance performance. The boys enjoyed the show. On the waterfront with the cruise ships. After we said farewell, the Peters' and friends got a cab back to their resort and we strolled around while waiting for the return ferry. It was a truly enjoyable day for all of us.

Can't get away from this one! (Cath's visit)

Twelve days of laughs with my world traveler friend (7-19 Dec). Thursday was a great day for lunch and drinks Wah Wah beach club. Friday - After the school Xmas concert we planned to get our "annual" pedicure but Homer was allowed to leave school so Jordan went to meet his friend David, who was visiting and Cath and I got caught up at the pool cabana. On Saturday, all day off and on rain kept us inside but we had lots of food and drinks to keep us happy including a few giant bags of my favorite English Walkers crisps and Jordan's favorite Terrys Chocolate Orange that Cath brought. Sunday - After a shrimp-tastic lunch at Yan and Ten we hit the beach and enjoyed the waves. On Monday we finally got our pedicures then wandered up to   Centro Maya Mall. Tuesday was a relaxing day, then on Wednesday we had lunch at La Jarra followed by a walk around the Fase 1 ruins. Cath and I took a big long walk halfway around the golf course, visit...
